Master Parachutist wings are the top rating of the military parachutist badge: the canopy and wings of basic jump wings, topped with a star and laurel wreath. This is the regulation-size badge in a polished mirror finish.
What the badge means in Pararescue
Parachuting is a core Pararescue skill, and jump wings are among the first badges a PJ or CRO earns. The star and laurel wreath above the canopy mark the master level, the highest of the three parachutist ratings, reached through years of jumping and jumpmaster duty.
The design
The parachutist badge shows an open parachute canopy over a pair of wings that curve up to meet it, a design that dates to 1941. A star above the canopy marks the senior rating; a star inside a laurel wreath marks the master rating.
